World-Renowned Motocross Rider Killed in Crash at South Australian Speedway
A world-renowned motocross rider has died following a race in Adelaide’s north-west.
Queensland competitor Joel Evans suffered critical injuries in a crash at Gillman Speedway around 3:20pm yesterday during Round 3 of the 2025 ProMX Championship.
The event was immediately abandoned, and emergency services were called to the scene.

The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital, where he died last night.
Tributes for the sporting identity came flooding in soon after the news.
One person described his death as a "huge shock for the industry", while another said Evans would "leave a huge impact on people in this sport".
It is the second fatal crash at Gillman Speedway in five months after an experienced flat track motorbike rider was involved in a crash in November.
Last month, another rider was seriously injured.
South Australia Police will be prepare a report for the state coroner.
