Indian Premier League 2025
Delhi Capitals – 188/5 (20 overs)
Abishek Porel 49 (37), Jofra Archer 2/32
Rajasthan Royals – 188/4 (20 overs)
Nitish Rana 51 (28), Axar Patel 1/23
Match Tied – Delhi Capitals won in the Super Over
With 12 runs required in the Super Over, Tristan Stubbs smashed the fourth delivery from Sandeep Sharma for a towering six, sealing a dramatic victory for Delhi.
Rajasthan faltered in the Super Over, squandering one ball from Mitchell Starc’s earlier effort. With only two wickets allowed, both Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal were run out, curbing any momentum. Starc, despite bowling a no-ball that also raced away for four, got away with minimal damage. Rajasthan’s decision to leave out Nitish Rana—who had earlier blazed 51 off 28 balls—also raised eyebrows.
The match went to a Super Over after Rajasthan, chasing 189, needed nine off Starc’s final over. With two required from the last ball, Dhruv Jurel was run out attempting a risky second run, tying the scores.
Jaiswal’s fluent 51 at the top and Rana’s brisk innings had put Rajasthan in a strong position, but Starc turned the tide by dismissing Rana with a searing yorker in the 18th over, leaving 28 runs still to get. He then held his nerve in the final over to push the match into a Super Over.
Earlier, Delhi had posted 188-5, anchored by Abishek Porel’s 49. KL Rahul contributed 38, while Stubbs struck an unbeaten 34 off 18 balls, and captain Axar Patel added a quickfire 34 from just 14 deliveries.
Jofra Archer was Rajasthan’s standout bowler, finishing with 2-32.
The result sees Delhi continuing their strong form with five wins from six games, while Rajasthan’s struggles persist, having now lost five of their seven matches.
